cPanel Server Users :: Spamassassin Update

Who this applies to:
cPanel customers that were experiencing difficulties since December 16,2008 with SPAM not being detected and blocked correctly.

Spamassassin was updated as of December 23, 2008 and verified to be operating correctly on all cPanel Servers. This problem has been corrected. SPAM is being dropped as should be.

If your still experiencing problems catching certain spam emails please realize that during the holiday seasons spammers are hard at work, always looking for ways to make sure they deliver you the latest greatest junk email. As the spammers work hard to get it to you, AM Hosting works hard to make sure we catch as much as possible before it gets to you. Please understand this is a never ending battle and Am Hosting updates as fast as the Spam Resources located throughout the Internet to block known spam networks, hosts and domains.

Respectfully,
Am Hosting Support

HTACCESS Login Policy

login failure detection of Apache .htpasswd connections = "10"
This applies to the following servers:
cPanel3
cPanel2
cPanel4
VIP
Kong
Login Failures .HTACCESS = "10"
After which a temporary block is applied to that account for 1800 seconds (HALF HOUR / 30 MINUTES). This assists the server in fighting brute force attempts against accounts. If the attempts continue after the account has a temporary block the account will be permanently blocked until you contact us.
All blocks are based on INCOMING IP. Not username / password.
This helps assure that a malicious user does not try lock a competitor out of their own account.

If your account gets locked out due to a forgotten password, please email support@amhosting.com and we can look into it for you and get you unblocked.
Thank You.
